As a Senior Care Assistant working in a Nursing/ Care Home setting you will help and support our Residents in maintaining their well-being and independence on an individual basis. You will also support and supervise Care Assistants in the consistent delivery of quality care services which respond to residents and company needs.
You will help and promote an environment within the nursing/care home that is non-institutionalised in its practices and that encourages and involves the residents in choices to promote and maintain whenever possible, their independence of living.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
1. To deliver Person Centred Care.
2. To attend to all personal hygiene and care needs.
3. Ensuring at all times that you respect, promote and maintain the residents dignity.
4. To strip and remake beds as required.
5. To give assistance with dressing, feeding and walking as required.
6. To serve meals and drinks at meal times.
Your ability to interact well with people and to ensure that their dignity and quality of life are well maintained will be key to your success in this role.
Essential Skills and Experience for this role include:
- Experience of working within a Nursing/ Care Home in a caring role for at least 2 years.
- Positive and professional attitude towards the care of older people.
- Ability to stay calm and constructive in emergencies.
- Ability to organize and provide team leadership.
- Experience of supervising staff and resources.
All posts are available on Permanent basis with hours ranging between 20 and 42 per week. Overtime is available.
Full on the job training is provided as required. Previous experience in a care setting is essential.
